SPACE AT RYDER FARM I 2019
Inspired by a photograph of my mother being baptised in the rivers of Dominican Republic, Baptism reimagines the scene in diaspora. What changes when the subject has been displaced? What significance does water, as a holy entity, hold? As a site of migration, creation, and destruction, especially of a small island? These questions were explored through the self-portraits, writing a continuation of the orignal baptism story of my mother.
